Farmhouse Shutters

The farmhouse sink is an obviously beautiful farmhouse decor, but not everyone can afford it, or like me don’t want to totally commit to the farmhouse style in an urban setting.  Unlike a permanent renovation these shutters will add some adorable farmhouse flare without a huge expense or permanent commitment.  These shutters are made from recycled Ikea wood slats, pretty and refurbished.  So well done.

Scalloped Cornice Window Treatment

Cornices are really striking, but they can be daunting to try and make.  This simple scalloped cornice tutorial shows you how.   This cornice would add an elegant chic mood to a room, but I think it would be fun in gingham or country fabric as a farmhouse element. Do you agree?

Industrial Curtain Rod Window Treatment

These rods are definitely the most heavy duty rods I have ever seen.  They are so masculine and rugged.  There is a local seller here who makes something very similar to this post and when I saw them in person I was stunned at how beautiful they are.  Especially when the rods were paired with industrial lighting.  This is a very stylish look.

Privacy Screen Window Treatment

Our neighbourhood is a typical new suburban neighbourhood with two storey homes spaced about ten feet apart.  Privacy is definitely a concern, our master bathroom has a large window over the soaker tub that faces the street.  The window is currently covered with heavy blinds that cost $100.  Don’t you think this DIY solution would be prettier, less expensive and much more unique?

Iron Bracket Window Treatment

The title Iron Bracket doesn’t inspire thoughts about a very chic elegant feminine window treatment does it?  But that is exactly what the Chateau Chic blog has created. Not sure what category you could fit this window treatment into; maybe feminine or farmhouse.  I am going to categorize it into the I want this category.  The hardest part of this treatment is keeping a lookout for fantastic large brackets.
