Easy Chocolate Fudge Recipe
Easy Chocolate Fudge with Condensed Milk and Chocolate Chips
My mother showed me how to make this chocolate fudge recipe decades ago. Its so much easier than cooked fudge its the only chocolate fudge I ever make. Now with a microwave its even quicker and easier than ever. This chocolate fudge is thick, creamy and full of luscious chocolate flavour just the way fudge is suppose to be. I have included instructions for the original double boiler method and how to make chocolate fudge in the microwave.
Chocolate Fudge Recipe
This recipe is so easy to make with just a few ingredients.
Chocolate Fudge Ingredients
- 3 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
- 1 1/2 cups sweetened condensed milk
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- pinch of salt
- 1 tsp vanilla
How to Make Chocolate Fudge on the Stove Top
Step 1 – Preparation
Use an 8 inch square pan, line the square pan with tin foil or parchment paper and butter it well. Make sure your piece of tin foil (parchment) is large enough to extend over the edge of your square pan. This extra edge makes the fudge easier to lift out of the pan once cooled.
As this fudge recipe comes together quickly I like to butter a spatula and set it aside.
You can make this fudge in a double boiler, or use a microwave. This time I made it using a microwave and that is the method the video shows.
Step 2 – Melt Chocolate in Double Boiler
Melt the chocolate chips in a double boiler, or in a glass bowl over boiling water. Remove from heat and add the condensed milk, salt and vanilla. Stir until smooth.
Step 3 – Transfer and Let Cool
Transfer the chocolate fudge mixture to your buttered parchment paper lined pan pan and press down using a buttered spatula. Chill until firm about 2 hours.

Step 2 – Melt in Microwave
Use a large microwave safe bowl, or a batter bowl with handle.
Place the chocolate chips and condensed milk into the bowl, stir to combine.
Microwave on high for one minute. Remove from microwave and stir. If it isn’t smooth microwave for 30 seconds, remove from microwave and stir. Do this until your chocolate is melted. Here is an image of what the chocolate fudge mixture looks like after 60 and 90 second when it was ready.
