Ingredients
8ouncescream cheesesoftened
½cupcaramel sauce
1tablespoonbrown sugaroptional
1teaspoonvanilla extract
Pinchof salt
1cupheavy whipping cream
½cupcaramel saucefor topping
Pinchof cinnamon or apple pie spiceoptional
Instructions
Place the softened cream cheese in a large mixing bowl. Using an electric mixer, beat on high speed until smooth and creamy.
Add 1/2 cup caramel sauce, brown sugar (if using), vanilla extract, and salt. Beat on medium speed until smooth and well combined.
If making the fall variation, add a pinch of cinnamon or apple pie spice. Mix until fully incorporated. During the fall, when warm spices are so popular, I like adding a little spice flavor to complement the apples and caramel.
In a cold mixing bowl, add the whipping cream. Beat on high speed until stiff peaks form.
Add the whipped cream to the cream cheese mixture. Gently fold together with a spatula until combined, light, and fluffy.
Transfer the dip to a pretty serving bowl and pour the remaining caramel sauce over the top.
Cover with plastic wrap and place in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour before serving.
Notes
For the freshest flavor, I recommend using real whipped cream.
For a longer-lasting dip, substitute an 8-ounce container of thawed Cool Whip for the whipped cream.
If using Cool Whip, the dip can be made up to 3 days ahead.
Serve with fresh apple slices, green grapes, pear slices, graham crackers, vanilla wafers, or pretzels.
For fall, add a pinch of cinnamon or apple pie spice.
