A single, reliable cookie dough that can be divided and turned into several different cookie flavors. Add your favorite mix-ins and bake a variety of cookies from one batch of dough.
½cup eachchocolate chips, raisins, walnuts or pecans
Instructions
Step 1: Make the Cookie Dough
Beat the butter in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy, about 1 minute. Add the white sugar and brown sugar, beating well after each addition until smooth and creamy. Add the eggs and vanilla and continue mixing until fully combined. Beat for a total of 3 to 5 minutes until the mixture is light and fluffy.
Step 2: Add the Dry Ingredients
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture and mix just until combined. Do not overmix.
Step 3: Divide Dough and Add Mix-ins
Divide the finished cookie dough into portions, depending on how many flavors you want to make. Place each portion into a separate bowl and gently stir in your chosen mix-ins until evenly distributed.
Step 4: Scoop and Bake Cookies
Preheat the oven to 350°F and line baking sheets with parchment paper. Scoop the dough onto the prepared pans, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
Bake for 7 to 10 minutes, just until the edges are set. Let the cookies cool on the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
