The printables are designed to be printed onto 8.5×11 inch regular printer paper or white cardstock.
For best results, I recommend printing it out on white cardstock if possible. If not it will work using regular printer paper as well. It just won’t be as sturdy for outdoor use.
Then you can add them to a posterboard to enlarge or place the cute sign in an inexpensive frame.
Adding a Personal Touch to Signs

By customizing your sign, you’re not only making it unique but also showing that you care, turning your home into a welcoming stop for all the little ghosts and goblins on Halloween night.

Neighbour Handing Out Candy for You Sign
If you’re friendly with a neighbor maybe you want to ask them to hand out some candy for you. Instead of placing a bowl outside with the sign place the sign out instead. Depending on which neighbor is willing to share the candy, there is a sign for either direction.
This sign says” We are out trick or treating just like you. But the people over there have a bowl of our candy to share.” I created two with an arrow in each direction. This arrangement is really good if you’re concerned about the kids not being fair with the sweet treat you’re sharing.
As this download has a choice of directions it opens in a folder that includes both printables.
Display Tips for Maximum Impact
Front Porch Presentation Ideas
There are things to consider when setting up your front porch for Halloween. Begin with your printable Halloween porch candy sign as the focal point. Place the sign where it’s easily visible for approaching trick-or-treaters. You could consider mounting it on a small easel or attaching it to a decorative wreath on your door. Lighting is also helpful to highlight the sign. Maybe even add a Halloween doormat that shares an eerie sound when they approach the candy bowl station.
If space allows, arrange your big bowl of candy near the sign, ensuring it’s accessible and stable.
Creative Candy Bowl Arrangements
Start with a big bowl of candy that’s eye-catching, and unbreakable, perhaps one that matches your Halloween theme. Make sure you have enough candy, although the kids may choose to take more than you would hand out, I am certain most will be fair. to the other children and only take one piece of candy or two.
Consider using a cauldron or a pumpkin-shaped container for an extra festive touch. To make the candy bowl even more inviting, add different types of candy, so children can choose. Elevate the bowl by placing it on a chair or crate, making it easy for kids to reach.
This sign is printed on card stock and then taped to a large popsicle stick to keep it in place above the bowl.
You may consider attaching the bowl to whatever stand you use with contact strips on the underside. Whichever sign you choose, they all remind the kids to just take one or two pieces of candy. Hopefully, it will keep your bowl stocked throughout the night and ensure a happy Halloween for all the trick-and-treaters.
I took out last year’s Halloween witch and quickly set her up for the candy at the neighbors. The witch and decor let people know you are participating, and I placed it so that the trick-and-treaters see the sign before climbing the stairs.
Ensuring a Fun Halloween Experience
Safety is also key; ensure your porch is well-lit and free from tripping hazards. By adding a bowl of candy for your neighbors, this small act of consideration will resonate with both the kids and their parents. Making Halloween night a great time for the whole neighborhood.
Class Room Use
Another idea is to send the printable in a dollar store frame with a whole bowl of candy to your kid’s Halloween party at school. This will be a really quick Halloween party contribution as long as your treats are individually wrapped.
