Easter Dirt Cups with Strawberry Carrots
Recently, we drove east again hunting for more vintage finds, but when we got home Hubs took a bad fall. I had a more substantial recipe planned to share, but I needed something quick to make and post, and of course a little treat for healing Hubs.
These Easter dirt cups were my answer. They’re incredibly easy to make using chocolate pudding, crushed Oreos, and strawberries dipped in orange candy coating to resemble little carrots growing in the dirt.

It’s a cheerful, fun dessert that comes together in minutes. Whether you want a quick snack, a playful Easter treat, or a simple dessert to brighten someone’s day, these Easter dirt cups are a sweet and easy choice.
Ingredients for Easter Dirt Cups
No special ingredients here, just five simple ingredients, a few plastic cups, and you’re ready to make these fun Easter dirt cups.

- 2 boxes instant chocolate pudding mix
- 4 cups milk
- About 18 Oreo cookies
- 6–10 fresh strawberries
- 12 ounces orange candy melts
How to Make Easter Dirt Cups (Easy Easter Dessert)
Step 1 – Melt the Candy Melts
Place the orange candy melts in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave power varies quite a bit, so your timing may be slightly different. In my microwave, it took about 1 1/2 minutes total for the candy melts to become smooth and fully melted.
Heat them in 30-second increments, stirring well between each round, until the candy melts are completely smooth.

Once melted, pour about ¼ of the candy into a piping bag and set it aside for decorating the strawberries later.
Step 2 – Dip the Strawberries to Make Carrot Toppers
Dip each strawberry into the melted candy coating until fully covered. Place the dipped strawberries on parchment paper or wax paper.
Snip a very small tip off the piping bag and drizzle the reserved candy coating over the strawberries for decoration. Set the strawberry carrots aside until the candy coating firms up.

Step 3 – Prepare the Chocolate Pudding
In a large mixing bowl prepare the chocolate pudding according to the package directions, whisking the pudding mix and milk together until smooth.

Once mixed, place the bowl of pudding in the refrigerator for about 5–10 minutes to thicken and set.
Step 4 – Crush the Oreo Cookies
Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor and pulse until they resemble fine crumbs.
If you don’t have a food processor, you can also place the cookies in a sealed plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Step 5 – Assemble the Easter Dirt Cups
Divide the chocolate pudding evenly between six dessert cups. Sprinkle the crushed Oreo cookies over the pudding to create the “dirt” layer.

Top each cup with one or two strawberry carrots.

Step 6 – Serve
Serve the Easter dirt cups chilled. Once assembled, place them back in the refrigerator until ready to serve. They can be made a few hours ahead and covered loosely with plastic wrap, making them an easy dessert to prepare for an Easter gathering or a kids’ party.
If you want to save this recipe for later, be sure to pin these Easter dirt cups to your Easter desserts or spring recipe board so you can easily find them again.

These Easter dirt cups are a quick and cheerful Easter dessert that’s always fun to serve. The strawberry carrots make them extra cute, and the simple pudding and Oreo layers make them easy enough to whip up at the last minute.
