Strawberry Daiquiri

Refreshing Daiquiri Recipe with Strawberries

This fresh and fruity homemade daiquiri recipe skips the sugar and colouring laden drink mixes. With a few simple steps and our trusted blenders we can make strawberry daiquiris without all the artificial sugars, colours, and flavours.

I will share recipes for both a strawberry daiquiri cocktail with rum and a non- alcoholic strawberry daiquiri mocktail everyone can enjoy.

Two strawberry daiquiri drinks served in tall glasses. The glasses are sitting on a wooden cutting board with strawberries placed near the glass stems.

To reduce the amount of sugar in the recipe I suggest replacing the granulated sugar with powdered monk fruit sweetener. If you want to read more about monk fruit sweetener here is a complete article about Monk Fruit sweeteners. If you don’t mind the sugar I have included the recipe for regular sugar simple syrup as well.

Strawberry Daquiri Ingredients

Sugar-Free Simple Syrup:

1/4 cup powdered monk fruit sweetener
1/2 cup water

Simple Syrup with Sugar:

1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water

2½ c. fresh strawberries, hulled
¼ c. fresh lime juice
4 oz. white or golden rum
6-8 large ice cubes

Garnish: lime wheels and/or fresh strawberries

Chilling Glasses

You can skip chilling the glasses ahead of time, but most ice cold drinks benefit from being served in chilled glasses. If your wanting to bring the strawberry daquiris up a notch and you have the time, place pretty tall stemmed glasses in the freezer the night before. Bring the glasses out of the freezer just before serving.

Strawberry Daiquiri Instructions

Start by making either the monk fruit simple syrup or the simple syrup with sugar.

Monk Fruit Simple Syrup

Prepare the simple syrup by combining the monk fruit sweetener and water in a small saucepan. Stir to combine and heat until the sweetener dissolves completely, approximately 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Simple Syrup with Sugar

Prepare the simple syrup with sugar by heating the water first, then add the sugar. Stir to combine and heat until the sugar dissolves completely, about five minutes. Remove from heat and let cool.

While the simple syrup is cooling. Wash and hull the strawberries, and juice the fresh limes.

In a large blender, add the strawberries, lime juice, rum, and one-quarter cup of the simple syrup. Blend until smooth.

With the blender still running add the ice cubes a bit at a time until the strawberry daiquiri is thoroughly combined.

Turn the blender off, remove the lid and taste for sweetness.

If your wanting more sweetness add the remaining simple syrup. Blend for another 30 seconds to combine the remaining syrup.

To Serve Strawberry Daiquiri

To serve, pour the strawberry daiquiri mixture into the glasses and serve immediately.
