Home and Garden Spring Home Tour
I am really happy to be collaborating with these awesome bloggers in putting on a home and garden Spring tour. I would love to live south where the gardens are in bloom, the decks are in use and the sunshine has warmth in it. Some of my friends have gardens on their tours. You will find their tours at the end of my post. Enjoy!
Almost Spring Home Tour
The calendar says its Spring, but it certainly isn’t Spring outdoors here yet. There is still snow and the outdoor plants haven’t sprouted. Everyone here is anxiously awaiting the warm days of Spring. Spring decor is so much fun to do, decorating with all the pretty pastel colours lifted my spirits.

Welcome
Normally there is a large mirror in the front foyer, it is very practical for taking a last minute check before heading out the door. Unfortunately, it reflects the staircase so it ruins any decor pictures. Instead of taking the mirror down, I covered it with a really pretty Spring wall hanging. The 3 tier tray is made over from fall and is galvanized matching the chalkboard and flower bowl. Spring decor especially blush spring decor is excessively feminine; I toned it down by using galvanized metal and birch bark.

Main Living Area
The blush, soft blue and bunny theme carry through into the kitchen. This little welcoming lady bunny cookie jar is a thrift store find from last week. Although there is still snow outside, you can tell by the shine that it is a gloriously bright clear blue day.

Kitchen
This is the first time I have posted the table and chairs without chair covers of some sort. I planned on making some for Spring but ran out of time. You may be able to tell how much this hardworking set needs a refinishing. Hopefully, they receive their well-earned makeover before Summer.

As this is our only table it is very busy, because of that I use a small centerpiece that can be easily moved. This little bunny is sitting on a sugar starched hand crocheted pansy doily and a galvanized plate charger. The sugar starch makes the doily solid, it doesn’t bend and can be dusted. Close to Easter I will surround it with chocolate eggs. I think that the active areas of the house should have simpler decor.

The family room is my favorite room in the whole house. The windows are so bright and cheerful. During the summer you can look out and see the flower covered deck. To allow more light in I moved all the furniture away from the windows. Moving furniture around in a room or better yet between rooms can quickly update and refresh a room you’re bored with and best of all it’s free.

The Easter banner and five of the cushions are DIY projects I will post the tutorials on the blog very soon.

These sentries are guarding their treasures. Who can blame them they look delicious.

This little dragonfly cushion is a recent find, it was worth buying for the bling and sparkle. It’s not cuddly or practical, I made some of those. This one is pure bling.

I feel one of the best parts of DIY accessories is being able to coordinate them. The little rabbits on this cushion are appliqued in the same fabric as the DIY spring tea towels on the stove. Both tutorials are coming up on the blog.

For spring I only decorated two rooms upstairs, the main man cave got a few items and the guest bedroom for my granddaughters. The other rooms are refreshed for Spring but don’t have any fun bunnies, or fresh flowers.
This gorgeous caddy is from the Interior Frugalista, I love it. The rest of the ornaments are odds and sods I grabbed from the storage room and a small bundle of fresh spring flowers.

My tour ends with these pictures from my granddaughters guest room. The carrots in this room will be gifted to the girls.

Great idea to cover the mirror for the tour, mirrors can really reflect what you don’t want all to see sometimes – they are great in real life, not so great for photo life!
We are lucky that spring really does seem to have sprung here in the UK. We’ve had some rainy days but lots of warm sunny spells too. Fingers crossed yours arrives soon.

I love all your bunnies sprinkled around your downstairs. Love the bunny wall-hanging over the mirror, and the displays on your coffee table & dining table. Makes me wish I had a few bunnies. I might have to make a trip out to Hobby Lobby. Like the dragonfly pillow too. You may have snow outside, but Spring has sprung inside.

Leanna your home is lovely! All that sunshine sure makes it look like spring is already there and I agree that the more used areas should have less decor. It makes it so much easier to get it out of the way quickly, lol! I am in love with those carrots and I am still planning on making a couple for my granddaughters.
Hi Susanne: Sometimes its a hard choice between functionality and putting out something fun or pretty that you like.
With the kitchen I find it easy, clutter on the counters is a pet peeve for me.

Hi Debra: Long story but I made a carrot planting craft to do with my grand daughters. This decor project is a spin off of that child’s craft.

What a lovely home and tour. I love how you have the blush but made it so the men in your life still feel comfortable. By touring your house I would never know you still have cold weather. Your home is so warm and inviting.
Honestly Debra I could decorate my whole house in 6 year old princess style all sparkles, tulle and glitz. They might pack me away for being a crazy old lady if I did that though lol.

You may live in snowy Canada Leanna but your home is full of spring cheer. Everything is so bright and fresh. And the pillow with the dragonfly is so precious. I know your granddaughters will love those giant carrots in their room too.
Spring takes forever to get here, yet Easter zooms up on you. I am really glad to have these carrots finished for them. Purchase a bag of chocolate eggs and I am ready for them.

Everytime I do a doily it reminds me of my Mom and Grandmother. I can remember really large doilies all propped up with small glasses so they would dry and harden just so. Nice feminine memories,Pansy’s are probably my favorite flower so I have a real soft spot for crocheted ones.
I know that doilies date me as older, but oh well, I like them. lol

I usually plant my flowers beds on Mother’s day weekend. Although I cannot wait for Spring I am a bit hesitant about all the outdoor projects I have planned for the summer.

Hi Katrin: It was so much fun to decorate in blush colours. Pink and white are my two favorite colours and I was able to use them throughout the house. I love bunnies and lambs for Spring while I wait for the first blooms to appear.

Very inspiriting Easter decor. I think I might have to dust off my bunnies now. I am knee deep in classes and working for the Church but I want spring in my house!
Edmonton has all kinds of jack rabbits and I love them. Because of the rabbits I can keep the bunnies out a little bit longer. After bunny season is yard season. So many outdoor projects planned for this year, but the Spring cleaning and decorating is done.
The classes are what I have to find time for now.
I am loving all the blush accents I your home for spring! You did such a great job decorating and of course incorporating those Easter accents in as well! So glad to be doing this spring home tour hop with you!
