Kitchen Table Centerpiece Using a Vintage Glass Bundt Pan

I came across this old vintage glass bundt pan and instantly knew it could be something more than just a baking dish. The glass has that soft, slightly opaque look that only comes with age, with just a hint of color that makes it feel special even on its own.

To be honest, I’m not even sure I would ever use it for baking. Bundt pans are typically used for rich cakes like pound cake or coffee cake, where the detailed shape creates that classic fluted design. Maybe one day I’ll give it a try.

But for now, I couldn’t resist turning my newest vintage find into something a little different.

The shape works beautifully as a base for a wreath-style centerpiece, with the center opening creating a natural space for layering greenery and decorative accents. I also love that it still feels right at home in the kitchen.

So instead of baking, I decided to create an easy spring centerpiece using the bundt pan as the base, something light, fresh, and simple to put together.

How to Make a Kitchen Centerpiece Using a Bundt Pan

I styled my centerpiece on the kitchen island, but this same idea works just as well on a kitchen table, coffee table, or even a sideboard.

Supplies Needed:

Before you begin, gather all of your materials so everything is within easy reach. This project comes together quickly once you start layering, so having everything ready makes the process smooth and enjoyable.

Lay out your base pieces, including the tea towel or table runner, trays, and decorative elements. Seeing everything together also helps you get a feel for how the textures and tones will work as a finished centerpiece.

Supplies for a kitchen centerpiece including trays, vintage plate, doily, tea towel, fairy lights, and a flameless candle.
  • Tea towel or table runner (for the base)
  • Round wood tray
  • Small coordinating stand or riser
  • Vintage plate
  • Doily
  • Fairy lights
  • Greenery (real or faux)
  • Vintage glass bundt pan
  • Flameless pillar candle
  • Small decorative accent (such as a bunny for a touch of whimsy)

Step 1: Create a Soft Base Layer

Begin by laying your tea towel or table runner flat as the foundation for your centerpiece. I chose a soft green waffle tea towel to tie in with my kitchen colors, but you can use whatever works with your space.

Center a round wood tray on top of the fabric, then place your small stand or riser in the middle to start building height. Finish this layer by setting a decorative plate on top of the stand.

These layered pieces create a strong, eye-catching base that anchors the entire arrangement while adding warmth and texture.

Step 2: Add the Fairy Lights to the Bundt Pan

Place a strand of warm white micro fairy lights directly inside the glass bundt pan.

Place your battery pack into the middle of your tray, camouflage it with a pretty vintage doily, or napkin. Cover with the bundt pan. Spread the lights evenly around the ring, keeping the battery cord tucked to the back.

The goal is to create a soft glow through the glass rather than seeing the lights themselves. This gentle lighting adds warmth and lets the bundt pan softly glow from underneath your arrangement.

Once the lights are tucked in, turn them on to see the soft glow come to life.

Step 3: Fill the Bundt Pan with Greenery

Now that the bundt pan and lights are in place, begin filling the ring with greenery to create a soft wreath shape.

I chose a very soft green faux branch with light sprigs and delicate, almost dandelion-like blossoms. The airy texture keeps the arrangement feeling light and lets the glow from the fairy lights show through.

Tuck the greenery directly into the bundt pan, working your way around the entire circle. Keep the placement slightly loose and uneven so it looks natural rather than tightly packed.

The bundt pan acts as a natural form, making it easy to create a wispy, rounded wreath shape while keeping everything in place.

Step 5: Place the Candle in the Center

Once your greenery is in place, it’s time to finish the centerpiece with a few simple accents.

Place a flameless pillar candle in the center of the bundt pan, allowing it to sit neatly within the opening. The soft candlelight works beautifully with the fairy lights, adding an extra layer of warmth.

I plan to add a decorative napkin wrap around the candle once I find the perfect one, similar to a project I shared a few years ago. For now, I wrapped the candle with a simple piece of lace to soften the separation between the candle and the glass.

Finish by adding a small decorative accent, such as a vintage bunny on the tray below, for a gentle touch of whimsy.
