Halloween Ghost Chocolate Milk Drink for Kids
If you are looking for Halloween drinks for kids that are easy, inexpensive, and just a little bit spooky, you’re going to enjoy these ghost chocolate milk cups. The little white ghosts are made from marshmallow fluff spread inside clear plastic cups. Add simple eyes and a mouth with a black Sharpie on the outside of the cup, then pour in the chocolate milk and the cutest little ghosts suddenly appear inside the drink.
I especially love how simple these are. There is no complicated decorating, no blender, and no special drink mix to make. All you really need is chocolate milk, marshmallow fluff, clear cups, and a black marker.
These would be adorable for a Halloween party, a fun family Halloween night, or an easy treat everyone can enjoy. For the adults, I’ll also show you how to turn the same ghost chocolate milk into a simple Baileys version.
Easy Halloween Drinks for Kids
Halloween treats can get pretty elaborate, but this ghost chocolate milk is one of those ideas that looks much more complicated than it actually is.
A spoonful of marshmallow fluff is spread onto the inside of the cup in a loose ghost shape. Then you draw the eyes and mouth on the outside of the cup with a black marker. When the chocolate milk is poured in, the darker background makes the white marshmallow ghost stand out.
You can make each ghost a little different too. Some can be tall and skinny, while others can be short and round. Different faces make the finished drinks even cuter.
Ingredients for Ghost Chocolate Milk
You only need a few simple ingredients and supplies to make these fun Halloween drinks.
Ingredients
- Chocolate milk
- Marshmallow fluff
Supplies
- Clear 9-ounce plastic cups
- Spoon
- Black permanent marker
- Halloween straws, optional
Clear cups are important because the ghost needs to show through once the chocolate milk is added.
How to Make Ghost Chocolate Milk
Step 1: Make the Marshmallow Ghosts
Add a spoonful of marshmallow fluff to the inside wall of a clear plastic cup.
Using the back of the spoon, gently spread the marshmallow fluff into a loose ghost shape. It does not need to be perfect. In fact, the uneven edges help make each little ghost look different.
You can add two or three little ghosts to each cup if you like.
Repeat with the remaining cups.
Step 2: Add the Ghost Faces
Once the marshmallow ghosts are in place, use a black permanent marker to draw the faces on the outside of each cup.
Add two small eyes and a round or oval mouth.
You can give every ghost the same surprised expression or make each one slightly different.
Give the Sharpie a minute or two to dry before adding the chocolate milk, just so the little ghost faces stay neat and smudge-free.
Step 3: Add the Chocolate Milk
Slowly pour cold chocolate milk into each prepared cup.
As the cup fills, the chocolate milk creates a dark background behind the marshmallow fluff and makes the little white ghosts much easier to see.
Add a Halloween straw if you are using one, and serve right away.

Tips for Making Marshmallow Ghost Cups
Marshmallow fluff is very sticky, so a little patience helps when spreading it inside the cup. Start with a small spoonful. You can always add more if your ghost needs to be larger.
Try not to make the marshmallow layer too thick. A flatter layer against the inside of the cup gives you a clearer ghost shape once the milk is added.
The ghosts do not have to match. I actually think they are more charming when each one has its own shape and expression.
If you’re making several for a Halloween party, get all the little ghost cups ready ahead of time, then pop them into the fridge until party time. Add the chocolate milk shortly before serving.
Make an Adult Ghost Chocolate Milk with Baileys
Remember the family movie night I mentioned earlier? Mom and Dad can enjoy an adult version too by adding an ounce of Baileys to the chocolate milk. It keeps the same cute ghost look, with a little something extra for the grown-ups.
