Homemade Advocaat Liqueur
My love for Advocaat comes from an old family friend who is like a father to me. He is Dutch and use to drink Snowballs only at Christmas time. I was allowed to have one as a teen while at home. I still love them and they always make me remember my childhood Christmases. This is my homemade Advocaat liqueur recipe that’s been a traditional recipe in our home for a long time
Unfortunately, commercial Advocaat has food colouring so I have to make my own. Advocaat is a strong Dutch liqueur, it can be sipped straight, but I prefer it made into a Snowball ( recipe at bottom of the post.)

Place in a double boiler over boiling water, add the gin and cook stirring constantly. Cook your Advocaat until it thickens about 10-15 minutes.
Pour into a blender and mix. Pour into a bottle.
Storing Homemade Advocaat
Advocaat can be stored for up to a month. Although easily recognizable by its pretty yellow colour I have made an Advocaat Label.
