Red Truck Christmas Coffee Bar

Hubs absolutely loves this little red truck Christmas decoration. Between the truck and the Christmas tree, if he had to choose just one, I honestly think the truck would win. Because of that, I have to find a special place for it every year. It has been used as a centerpiece, and one Christmas it even sat on his bedside table during the holidays.

This year I decided to give it a new job and use it as part of our Christmas coffee bar.

I always set up a coffee station during the holidays, and I usually include a tiered tray to save counter space. This little red truck did a surprisingly good job of filling that role. I was able to keep a few everyday essentials neatly contained inside the truck box, then add whatever else we wanted around it for the two of us.

It is a very simple idea, but I decided to share it in case I am not the only woman who has red truck Christmas decor she needs to include annually. It turned out to be a practical little Christmas coffee station, and Hubs loves having his favorite Christmas decoration right there in the kitchen.

A Small Christmas Coffee Bar for Two

This Christmas coffee bar is meant for everyday use rather than a large gathering. We still make a regular pot of coffee in the morning, but during the holidays it is nice to have everything ready for a single cup later in the day.

The Keurig sits right beside the coffee station, so we can make coffee or use it for hot water whenever we want a cup of hot chocolate. Keeping everything together makes the little corner convenient without turning it into another large display on the kitchen counter.

What I Put in the Red Truck

The truck itself is just large enough to hold a few of the things we use most often.

I added two Christmas mugs, a small container for teaspoons, four coffee pods, and a little bit of Christmas greenery. The greenery fills in the empty spaces and makes the everyday coffee supplies look like part of the Christmas decor.

There is no need to fill the truck with dozens of coffee pods. I keep just a few inside and refill them when needed. Keeping the everyday essentials neatly contained inside the truck box is what makes this little coffee station so practical.

The hot chocolate sits beside the truck, close enough to grab without crowding the display.

Coffee and Hot Chocolate in One Small Station

We use the Keurig to make the coffee and to provide hot water for the instant hot chocolate.

You can buy hot chocolate pods for a Keurig, but I already had tins of instant cocoa and they were less expensive. They also fit nicely beside the truck, so there was no reason to buy something different just for the coffee station.

If your family prefers tea, apple cider, or flavored coffee, those could easily be added instead. A small Christmas coffee bar works best when it contains the drinks your family actually enjoys.

Keeping a Christmas Coffee Bar Simple

It is very easy to turn a coffee bar into another large Christmas display. For this one, I deliberately kept things simple.

There are no rows of syrups, large containers of toppings, or several kinds of mugs. Those things are fun when I am setting up a coffee and hot chocolate bar for a Christmas gathering, but they are not necessary for an everyday coffee station.

For us, two mugs, a few coffee pods, hot chocolate, and spoons are enough.

Keeping it simple also makes the whole coffee station easy to move. If I need the counter space for Christmas baking, I can pick up the truck and move everything at once.

That little bit of counter beside the Keurig is away from my main cooking and baking area anyway, so the coffee bar can usually stay there throughout the holidays.

There is room beside it for a cookie jar as well. I had a vintage clear glass Christmas cookie jar that would have been perfect here, but I smashed it that year. Thankfully it was empty at the time. Losing a jar full of Christmas cookies would have added insult to injury. I will have to find another one before Christmas week begins.

A Tiered Tray Works Too

A tiered tray is another easy way to keep a Christmas coffee station organized without using too much counter space. I use them often because the extra level provides more storage while keeping everything together in one small area.

This is the type of setup I usually use for our holiday coffee station. Mugs, spoons, small dishes, and a few Christmas decorations can all be kept together without spreading across the kitchen counter. The little red truck simply gave me another way to accomplish the same thing this year.

Use What You Already Have for Your Christmas Coffee Bar

You do not need a red truck to create a small Christmas coffee bar like this one. Look through the Christmas decor you already own for something that can hold a few everyday essentials neatly in one place.

A small wooden crate, decorative sleigh, vintage basket, Christmas tray, or another favorite holiday container could work just as well. The important part is choosing something that fits comfortably beside your coffee maker without taking over the counter.

If you do have red truck Christmas decor that needs to make an annual appearance, this is an easy way to put it to work instead of simply finding another surface to decorate.

For the two of us, this simple little coffee station worked really well. It gave Hubs his favorite Christmas decoration a special place, kept our coffee supplies organized, and still left me plenty of room to use the kitchen.
